Movies Under the Stars series kicks off this Friday
With the gradual reopening of Ohio, Columbus residents will be jumping at any chance to get out and safely reconnect with family and friends.
Events like Movies Under the Stars at Green Lawn Abbey–located at 700 Greenlawn Ave.–have been happening before pandemic times. However, the lure of picnicking outside and watching the sunset right before a classic feature film is more enticing now than ever before.
The cost to attend one of the four 2020 shows is $5 per person. Plenty of room on the lawn also allows for plenty of social distancing between groups. Guests are asked to bring their own blankets and chairs.
Picnicking will begin at 8 p.m. The Chubby Hawaiian food truck will be on location for this specific showing. Click on the July, August, and September dates to see their corresponding food options.
Here are the upcoming showings for Movies Under the Stars:
- Friday, June 12: Notorious (1946) — directed by Alfred Hitchcock, starring Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman, and Claude Rains
- Friday, July 10: Laura (1944) — directed by Otto Preminger, starring Dana Andrews, Gene Tierney😌
- Friday, August 14: House on Haunted Hill (1959) — directed by William Castle, starring Vincent Price
- Friday, September 11: Surprise!
If a Friday date happens to get rained out, the movie will show the following evening.
