Pantone chooses two colors for 2021 because there are no rules anymore

Pantone chooses two colors for 2021 because there are no rules anymore

Classic Blue. Living Coral. Ultra Violet.

These were the Pantone colors for 2020, 2019, and 2018, respectively. We have no complaints. They seem like respectable hues.

For 2021, however, Pantone has gone off script, announcing not one, but two colors for our upcoming year.

The colors? “Illuminating” (a bright yellow) and “Ultimate Gray,” a combination that, according to Pantone, highlights “how different elements come together to support one another”.

Pantone describes the combination as aspirational.

“We need to feel that everything is going to get brighter—this is essential to the human spirit,” the announcement reads.

Looks like we’re not the only ones trying to recover from the dumpster fire that was 2020.
