Mark your calendars: Spielberg-themed drive-in night filling up fast
Drive-in movies are making a comeback, and opportunities across Columbus are selling out fast. The Ohio History Center has been an organization at the forefront of bringing Columbus residents the drive-in experience as part of its Pride of Ohio Drive-In Movie Series.
Those that were kicking themselves for not seeing E.T. the Extra Terrestrial in May or didn’t reserve a ticket in time for Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark tomorrow might want to mark their calendars today for July and August.

The Steven Spielberg celebration will continue into July and August with these following screenings:
- Jurassic Park – Sat., July 11 at 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
- Ready Player One – Sat., Aug. 8 at 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
“They have family appeal, some are very nostalgic and they’re just great movies to watch. And for most of our guests, probably to re-watch,” said Jen Cassidy, director of the OHC.
For this drive-in experience, the audio will be connected to an FM channel. The Ohio History Center suggests that you bring a standalone radio to prevent your car battery from draining. The OHC is also asking for guests to keep their windows rolled up throughout the showings.
The OHC will also be providing a snack pack option, which includes a big cookie and Buckeye caramel corn, for $9.50 and water for $1.35.
As they’re made available, reservations to future showings can be purchased here. There’s no cost to register. The drive-in will take place in the parking lot of the OHC, located at 800 E. 17th
