Pierogi Mountain had to dish out some bad news this week: they’re closing the Wunderbar location in German Village.

In a Facebook post, Pierogi Mountain wrote that while their operation was doing fine, “it turns out that the owners of the building no longer have a desire to operate a bar and they will be bringing in another concept to take over the space.”

The post went on to divulge that the concept will likely pivot towards a fine dining restaurant.

“We have enjoyed our time here in German Village and consider ourselves lucky to have gained so many new and amazing customers,” Pierogi Mountain wrote. “We thank you.”

But with the German Village closure, Pierogi Mountain will be able to open in a brand new location.

“The writing has been on the wall for some time that our time here was limited,” they wrote. “Because of this we have been working diligently on securing a brand new space that we hope to have open in late spring/early summer!”

Stay tuned to Pierogi Mountain’s Facebook for updates on the new space.

In the meantime, the Wunderbar location of Pierogi Mountain will remain open until March 23. The Cafe Bourbon St. spot will continue slinging its tasty little dough pockets business as usual.
