Former Giant Eagle on Neil could become the city’s latest mixed-use development

Developer Casto is eying the former Giant Eagle location at 777 Neil Ave. as the site of a brand new mixed-use development, according to NBC4i.

Casto shared its plans with the Harrison West Society on Wednesday night. If approved, the Thurber Village shopping center on Neil Avenue would be redeveloped for residential and commercial use.

The first major hurdle the developer will need to clear is gaining the approval of CVS, which still operates a location in the site in spite of Giant Eagle’s closure in 2017.
