Two-year-old Columbus girl shot by brother

A two-year-old girl is expected to survive after her four-year-old brother shot her early Wednesday morning. 

At 1:14 a.m. Columbus police say they were called to the scene of the shooting on Brentwell Blvd. and discovered the girl, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Children’s Hospital.

Detectives are still investigating what they have already deemed to be an accident. The girl is listed in stable condition.

UPDATE: Police say the four-year-old boy found his mother’s gun while she was putting other siblings to bed. He fired the gun, grazing his sister and causing a minor injury.
