Columbus could be taking another important step forward in securing a place on the highly-anticipated Chicago-to-Pittsburgh Hyperloop.
According to The Dispatch, The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission submitted a proposal to become a Virgin Hyperloop One certification center—a title which would keep the city at the forefront of the futuristic transit project.

Perhaps even more exciting, Virgin Hyperloop is considering Central Ohio as the site for a test track and related facilities if the certification is confirmed.
The Chicago-to-Pittsburgh route that would include Columbus is one of 10 possible paths that Virgin Hyperloop is considering for the first-ever hyperloop in the US. Virgin is expected to make a final decision on the certification center by the end of this year.
