Hazing allegations lead to suspension of 3 OSU frats

According to 10TV, three fraternities at The Ohio State University have landed in hot water over allegations of hazing.

OSU has suspended the local chapters of Sigma Pi and Zeta Beta Tau through August 2023. The Phi Delta Theta fraternity chapter has been suspended through August 2024.

The Phi Delta Theta chapter was previously placed on disciplinary probation in the winter of 2018 following accusations of confining new members to the chapter house for days on end, among other violations.

The Sigma Pi chapter, previously on disciplinary probation from November 2018 through May 2019, is now accused of making new members engage hold “stress positions” for missing quiz questions during new-member meetings. National Sigma Pi leadership reportedly revoked the charter for its Ohio State chapter on Jan. 3 for violations of its health and safety policies.

Zeta Beta Tau chapter was dinged for hosting an event in August where alcohol was available to underage students.
