A 31-year-old Virginia man is pleading guilty after admitting to his a role in an MS-13 gang murder that took place in Columbus in 2015.
U.S. Attorney David M. DeVillers announced Tuesday that Jose Daniel Gonzalez-Campos was the eighteenth gang member or associate to plead guilty to federal conspiracy charges filed in 2018.

The murder the prosecutor says Gonzalez-Campos, also known as “Flaco,” was involved in is that of 17-year-old Wilson Omar Villeda.
Court records show Villeda was stabbed nearly 70 times after MS-13 leaders in El Salvador ordered the killing of the Beechcroft high schooler.
He was buried in a shallow grave in Innis Park and discovered by a man walking his dog.
Gonzalez-Campos could face up to 30 years in prison as a result of his plea. Five more defendants are still being charged in the conspiracy case.
