Roth faces charges of aggravated murder in the death of her father, James Roth, 61, and attempted murder of her mother, Elizabeth Roth, 60—both of whom were shot.

Should Roth regain competency, the trial could move forward. Though no potential motive has been given, a prosecutor at Roth’s initial court appearance referred to her “apparent mental-health issues” as motivation in the shootings.
