Restaurant RIP: The Blue Danube

We won’t fault you if you think of “The Dube” as more of a tavern than a restaurant. While the High Street hangout you probably remember was something of a dive bar with food, The Blue Danube first opened its doors as a fine-dining restaurant in 1940.

However you remember it, there’s no denying that this Columbus landmark is sorely missed since closing in June of 2018. Initially there was talk that the establishment would reopen under the same name, but chances of that happening are looking slimmer by the day.
If there’s any silver lining to The Blue Danube’s closure, it might be that we’ll no longer have to suffer through people mispronouncing its name (hint: it’s not “da-noob”).
