Baked goods and barbecue make their way to the new North Market

Nicholas Youngblood

North Market has announced the next wave of merchants that will occupy its upcoming Bridge Park location, slated for a soft open in the coming weeks. Bake Me Happy, BREaD Bakery + Cafe, Hoyo’s Sambusas & Juices, and The Pit BBQ Grille will be adding their personal flavors to the mix at the imminent Dublin market.

Bake Me Happy is a bakery and coffee shop serving exclusively gluten-free items. Originally opened as a wholesale business, this will be its second retail location, following a south side shop that opened in 2014. Popular menu items include Oatmeal Creme Clouds, PopTarts, King Dongs, Zebra Cakes, Spicy Peanut Butter cookies, and specialty scones.

BREaD Bakery + Cafe is the first brick and mortar concept from Fromagerie, a locally-owned, operated, and licensed micro-bakery focused on slow-fermented yeasted and sourdough breads. Expect French baguettes, ciabattas, a range of sourdough loaves, cheesy loaves, and cheesy baked snacks.

Hoyo’s Sambusas & Juices comes from the team behind Hoyo’s Kitchen, a Somali eatery occupying the original North Market location. Similar to samosas, sambusas are an East African fried pastry with a thinner, chewy dough wrapped around a traditionally savory filling.

The Pit BBQ will see its third restaurant location open up in the new North Market. The barbecue joint makes its signature sauce in-house each day and prepares all its sides from scratch. In addition to brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and beef sausage, they provide fresh cut fries, macaroni and cheese, and Pit Slaw.

A full list of vendors at North Market Bridge Park can be found on the North Market website.
