Columbus is home to a mobile, wood-heated sauna

Jack McLaughlin

The food truck game has revolutionized more than we think. Today in Columbus, we can not only grab a burger or waffles from the side of a truck or trailer, we can hire a bar on wheels, and now even a mobile sauna.

You read correctly, a mobile sauna.

Referred to as High Heat, the business features a cedar barrel sauna complete with a wood-fired heater that aims ‘to enable authentic Finnish sauna sessions all across Columbus.”

The business, which was started by Columbus firefighter Nick Holderbaum, held its first public event at last weekend’s Holiday Wonderland, a collection of 50 different Columbus vendors and makers that was held inside Understory’s event space.

High Heat will be primarily used for pop-up markets (like Holiday Wonderland) and private events. You can book the mobile sauna here.
