Since Valentine’s Day often falls during Carnival, June 12 is Dia dos Namorados in Brazil. Like Valentine’s Day, romantic gifts are exchanged and meals are shared.

July 8, 2008, marked the first celebration of Russia’s annual Day of Family, Love, and Loyalty. It’s a church-state holiday celebrating Saints Pyotr and Fevronia along with Orthodox family values and long-term marriages. Awards are often given to couples married more than 25 years.
