Longtime Columbus artisans launch leather-goods store—out of their Franklin Park home

Jack McLaughlin

Old Salts Leatherworks has been crafting artisan-quality leather goods for Columbus since 2008, and now the long-standing business finally has a storefront to call home.

And that storefront—located at 267 Kelton Ave.—is ironically located inside the home of owners Brandon Ault and Becca Lynn.

That’s right: The duo converted a small room in their Franklin Park home into a full-fledged storefront. The spot officially held its grand opening on Nov. 21.

The store is located one block away from the forthcoming East Market, the massive 40,000 square-foot marketplace that will serve as the centerpiece to the Trolley District development, which is slated to open next month.

Old Salts Leatherworks offers everything from wallets to bags of all shapes and sizes, including totes, messenger bags, weekend bags, and hip pouches.

Its signature item, the front pocket wallet, features a compact, single pocket with a buckling strap that fits most cards and cash. The shop even offers hand-crafted leather knife roll-up holders and notebook covers, in addition to many more items.
