“Chef Designer” opening new East Side restaurant

Jack McLaughlin

Lobster mac and cheese, bourbon pineapple bowls and more are coming soon to the East Side of Columbus.

That’s because Designer Kitchen, the concept owned by “Chef Designer” Deshawn Howard, is opening next month. The eatery, which will be located at 1509 E. Main St., will officially open on July 7.

Billed as a contemporary Mediterranean restaurant “with an urban twist,” Designer Kitchen will also feature dishes like smoked turkey sausage, rosemary potatoes and even lobster fries.

The Main Street location will offer dine-in space, in addition to carryout and delivery. The concept will also feature personal chef services, catering and evening cooking classes. The space will also be available to rent for events.

Designer Kitchen was previously located in the food court of Eastland Mall. The restaurant will be open Tuesday through Saturday, from 12-8 p.m.
