Columbus City Schools teachers are on strike for the first time since 1975; We want to know what you think

Columbus City Schools teachers are on strike for the first time in nearly 50 years.

In a vote last night, 94 percent of Columbus Education Association members voted to reject Columbus City Schools’ final offer. The CEA has cited a desire for better pay, smaller class sizes, better building conditions and more.

District officials said they have committed to updating air conditioning systems in City Schools and believe teachers were offered a “generous compensation package,” but after 22 negotiating sessions, both sides remain far apart on a deal.
