Shots fired inside popular Old North bar; bullet enters apartment above

Gunfire broke out following an argument inside a popular Old North bar early Monday morning.

According to Columbus Police, multiple shots were fired inside Ledo’s Tavern, a long-standing bar and eatery located at 2608 N. High St.

Police responded to the bar shortly after 2:30 a.m. Monday morning after receiving reports of gunfire from within Ledo’s. One of the bullets traveled through the bar’s ceiling and entered the apartment above.

On Monday evening, Ledo’s issued an official statement on the incident to its social media accounts.

“We are enormously grateful today that no one was seriously hurt in the event that took place at Ledo’s on Sunday night. The incident was an isolated group of individuals we don’t know and haven’t seen before,” the statement reads.

The statement also noted that the bar is working closely with law enforcement and private security to stop similar incidents from taking place in the future. Ledo’s also noted it will temporarily adjust its hours, holding last call at 12:30 a.m. and officially closing at 1 a.m. while safety measures are drawn up.
