Teen in critical condition after shooting leads to crash near Polaris store

A 19 year-old is in critical condition after being shot in a car near Polaris Monday evening.

According to Columbus Police, officers responded to a call on the 1200 block of Polaris Parkway, near Crumbl Cookies, just before 7:40 p.m. on Sept. 5.

Officers were on the lookout for a dark-colored vehicle, and discovered a car matching this description that was involved in a recent accident near the intersection of Polaris Parkway and Old State Road.

At the scene, officers discovered the victim of the crash was the same as the shooting victim, according to a media release from Columbus Police.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and rushed into surgery. As of earlier today, the victim is still in critical condition.

According to police, a 17 year-old suspect was arrested.
