Here’s when High Bank’s new Gahanna location will open

The new High Bank Distillery Co. location is coming soon, and we wanted to be the first to tell Columbus when it plans on opening.

According to High Bank President and Founding Partner Jordan Helman, the new location is slated to open the final week of April, or the first week of May.

“All inspections should be done by mid-April, so as long as we can get staffed up and nothing really crazy happens, that’s what our plan is,” Helman said.

The new restaurant and bar, which will include 7,500 square feet of interior space and a roughly 1,600 square foot patio, will blend the aesthetics of High Bank’s original space with the unique location they’re taking over, at 1379 E. Johnstown Rd. in Gahanna.

It will seat roughly 280 people between interior and exterior dining spaces.

Helman said the new space will blend the more modern-industrial feel of the original High Banks location with an idyllic farmhouse touch.

“If you look at this place from the outside, it looks just like a barn,” Helman said. “We wanted to lean into that, but still try to maintain the design of what high Bank is from location one.”

The new High Bank will feature black, distressed wood panels on the majority of its walls that will mimic the char of bourbon barrels, in addition to distressed steel accent pieces that will be painted white.

“We personally have no interest in doing cookie cutter stuff,” Helman said. “We want to keep expanding, and our goal is always going to be, ‘How can we stay true to our brand, but how can we make things unique?’ We think that’s what makes it interesting for everyone.”
