The Short North location that was formerly home to Boxwood Biscuit Co.–which shuttered earlier this year–won’t stay vacant for long.

That’s because Cara and Nicole Woodhouse, owners of the popular Italian Village restaurant Woodhouse Vegan Cafe + Space, are ready to launch a new concept from the spot, which is located at  19 W. Russel St.

Woodhouse doesn’t have an estimated opening date yet.

According to Nicole Woodhouse, while the eatery will be a new concept complete with its own name (which hasn’t been released yet), it will still serve as a compliment of sorts to Woodhouse Vegan.

“We do dinner and a lot of comfort food here currently, so the plan with the new space to is to cover lunch, and the first part of the day,” Nicole Woodhouse said. “The plan is to start with baked goods and a coffee component, and then a few weeks later move to lunch, nice nostalgic sandwiches and things like that.”

Similar to its Italian Village counterpart, all the food at the new Short North concept will be vegan as well.
