A Columbus restaurateur is bringing boutique drinks to the East Market.

Raymond Kim, the chef and owner of Koso in the East Market (Kim’s parents also operate the long-standing Korean eatery Diaspora) will open Little Cat Boba, a specialty boba, matcha, coffee and tea shop that will be located next to Koso in the Market.

Kim told 614Now that Little Cat hopes to open before the end of the month, although the exact date has not been announced.

While Koso is focused on Korean street food, Little Cat will lean into a more upscale experience, serving pour-over coffee, ceremonial matcha, ube with coconut milk tea and matcha with blueberry milk tea.

“Koso is more casual in concept whereas Little Cat is more like a boutique experience,” Kim said, adding that all tea will be sourced from the direct trade, organic importer, Rishi Tea.
