Check out the charming, vintage-inspired home decor market popping up at the fairgrounds next month
Not like you ever need an excuse to have the best day with your favorite people, but just in case you do – the anticipated open air market called The City Mercantile is arriving in Columbus soon, and it will be a ton of fun.
Kirsten & Andres Oviedo, founders of The City Mercantile, have always had a keen interest in home decor, with experiences in owning their own furniture repurposing store and setting up home decor markets weekly all around the nation. “We longed for storied items with purpose, meaning, depth and character. Things that would tell our story too,” the duo said.
And now, they want to share their love of home decor and spotlighting unique vendors with the rest of Columbus.
October 11 through the 13, The City Mercantile and their 60 vendors will be featured at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, with a cozy fall event that features booths filled to the brim with curated, styled, vintage-inspired home decor, chic seasonal clothing, handmade goods, live music, and autumn-themed treats, and you’re invited. Yes, you!
This is more than your average flea pop-up or antique roadshow. “The vendors really double-down on their display. Their goal is to wow customers,” explained Kirsten. “They create almost a tiny storefront, rather than popping up a table and having items just sitting out.”
Hit pause on your everyday chores or weekend errands and join in on the event that happens only twice a year here in Columbus.
To purchase tickets, please visit The City Mercantile’s website. Tickets range from $5 to $12 depending on the day, and they not only include full access to each boutique, but also do-it-yourself fall-themed succulent garden classes, build-your-own resin charcuterie boards, plus charm bars and even hat bars, where you can customize pieces that would be perfect for you or a gift to a loved one.
