Local bartenders create craft cocktails inspired by locations around Columbus in new video series

Jack McLaughlin

We’ve all had cocktails named after people (like the Charlie Chaplin and Shirley Temple), and cities (the ubiquitous Manhattan or the Brooklyn), but what about drinks inspired by specific places?

(614) is exploring this concept in a brand-new video podcast series, Sip & Stay.

The series plans to feature a number of your favorite bartenders from around Ohio’s capital city, in addition to unique locations in the Columbus area. Each episode will see a unique cocktail crafted by a local bartender, and inspired by the Columbus area.

Our first episode, “Where There’s Smoke,” highlights a drink created by a visit to The Residences at Sara Crossing in Powell. Ambassador for Brown-Forman spirits “Whiskey Pete” Wagner hosts the first iteration of Sip & Stay, and leans into the residences’ community fire pits to create a Smoked Manhattan, perfect for afternoons and evenings around a fire with friends.
