ESPN confirms Cbus getting professional football team, and here’s where their stadium will be
Editor’s Note: At the time this story was published, ESPN said the UFL team would be playing at Lower.com Field. However, it is confirmed that the team will play at The Historic Crew Stadium.
Last week, rumors were swirling around that Columbus would be gaining a United Football League team this upcoming spring.
Well, they’re not just rumors. According to ESPN, the Buckeyes won’t be the only team you’re dedicated to anymore.
In an interview with ESPN, entrepreneur Mike Repole told them that his league will move two of its home markets, one being in Columbus, “where the team will play in The Historic Crew Stadium.” Repole actually prefers a smaller stadium.

“Capacity in Columbus will be around 21,000,” ESPN remarked. “He [Repole] said that ‘venue and attendance’ are his top priorities in creating a more lively perception of the league.”
For those wondering, the UFL is a professional American football minor league, or professional Spring Football league, that currently features eight teams throughout the United States.
