Feature-length slasher horror movie to be set and filmed in Columbus for first time ever
Chris Ott, a longtime fan of horror films, wrote an entire script in only 5 days after rewatching Scream and Halloween Ends.
“The ideas just kept coming and coming,” he told 614Now. “I sat on it awhile, and kept thinking, ‘Is this a good idea?’” until he realized he could make his own horror movie, and that it should, and will, be set right here in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
Ott, who went to Dublin City Schools and Ohio State, and currently works in marketing in Westerville, hopes to shoot his new movie He Who Follows all around town and at a nearby cabin in Columbus or Hocking Hills.

He Who Follows will be centered around young woman who’s getting ready to graduate college, and doesn’t really know what she wants to do with her life. Already ridden with anxiety about her next steps, her friends surprise her with a trip to a cabin…which takes a dark turn when they’re stalked by a villain.
Ott has every intention to make this a slasher film, but he wants his villain to also have a complex backstory, almost like you’d see in the Batman movies, he said.
The funding for this movie is already 80% there, but Ott and his team are still looking for that last 20%. If you’re interested in investing, or having your business featured in this film, reach out to Chris through his website. Fingers crossed for a premiere date in fall of 2026!
