Here’s what’s planned to be built on the recently demolished Spaghetti Warehouse

Despite attempts by local preservation and landmark societies to save it, Spaghetti Warehouse is gone. It was originally built in 1891 as the Crystal Ice Manufacturing Co. building, but later turned into the iconic. After a partial roof collapse in 2022, the building was deemed unsafe, and Spaghetti Warehouse opened a Downtown location.
But that area at 397 West Broad won’t just be a flat bed of concrete. Developers are planning to turn the area into a mix-use development project, complete with 246 apartments with a pool, a bar, a restaurant, and retail stores.

The Columbus architecture firm, Moody Nolan, released renderings of “The Macklin,” which will be the name of the apartment complex. Crystal, the proposed bar, pays homage to the history of the bygone ice manufacturing company that operated there.
The Downtown Commission will meet April 22 to review the proposed plan.
