What does legendary chef, activist, and TV show host Anthony Bourdain have in common with the owner of Cap City Diner and Marcella’s?

Besides just being driving forces in the restaurant industry, both Anthony Bourdain and Cameron Mitchell are officially hall of farmers in The Culinary Institute of America’s inaugural Alumni Hall of Fame Class.

Cameron Mitchell, owner of multiple restaurants around town, was one of 21 chefs inducted into this prestigious alumni Hall of Fame. He graduated from The Culinary Institute of America, based in NYC, in 1986. 55,000 other alumni could have been selected.

“The alumni honored in our Hall of Fame were nominated by their peers on the alumni council. They exemplify CIA’s core values and embody our Food is Life® philosophy, bringing joy, nourishment, and community to so many. It is our pleasure to give them a permanent home here on campus where students, families, and guests can learn about, and honor, their achievements,” said Culinary Institute of America.

Other alumni selected for this Hall of Fame include former CEO of Chipotle Mexican Grill, Steve Ells, Grant Athatz of the Michelin-starred restaurant Alinea,  and of course, the late Anthony Bourdain. Check out the full list here!
