Ohio city ranked among top walkable cities in the nation, beating NYC & Chicago

Move over, NYC! Apparently, Columbus is the place to enjoy food, drinks, attractions, and culture all by foot.

At least, that’s according to a panel of travel experts and voted by USA Today readers, who ranked Columbus as the fourth most walkable city in the entire nation.

“Columbus, Ohio, is home to a bevy of walkable neighborhoods, from the Short North Arts District where galleries and coffee shops are plentiful, to the University District, home to The Ohio State University, the Gateway Film Center, and eateries galore. Consider a stay at the Residence Inn or the high-end Hotel LeVeque in the downtown area, which is especially walkable with its numerous museums, concert venues, and restaurants in close proximity,” said USA Today’s article.

Columbus ranked higher than what a lot of people would think of as extremely walkable cities, like NYC (at the #10 spot) and Chicago (at #7).

Coming in at number one is Philadelphia.

What do you all think? Would you consider Columbus “walkable?”
