Ohio grown pumpkin weighing more than 1,000 lbs wins at Circleville Pumpkin Show
Since 1996, there’s been an annual tradition here in Central Ohio of who can grow the largest pumpkin, which is then weighted and announced in front of a group of hundreds of people.
At this year’s Circleville Pumpkin show pumpkin weigh-in, Mike & Dusti Helberg came in first place with a pumpkin that weighed a whopping 1,972 pounds!

As a prize, the family was gifted $3,000.

In second place came the Liggett Family, who has actually been competing since 1996 and broke a state record in 2023, weighing in at 1,663 pounds. Then third place was Brandon Wiggins with a 1,567 lb pumpkin.
The Circleville Pumpkin Show started today, and goes on until the 18th! The streets fill with all things pumpkin related (including pumpkin pizza, pumpkin donuts, and pumpkin ice cream). The weather is perfect for this event, so get out there!
