Popular bookstore & cafe opening in shuttered Central Ohio Bed, Bath, & Beyond

Bed, Bath, & Beyond declared bankruptcy a few years back, and their huge store off of W. Granville Rd. has been sitting vacant since 2023.
But not for long.
The popular bookstore chain, Barnes & Noble, is taking over, moving their smaller space at 3685 W. Dublin-Granville Rd. to this larger space. The new store, located at 3708 W. Granville Rd., will open on May 21, with the older shop closing on May 4.

Unlike other Barnes & Noble stores, this location will offer bookcases and displays all arranged in different rooms. Their new cafe will be twice as big, too, with the capacity to seat 45 people. I think back to my childhood and teenage years, where the cafe at a Barnes & Noble was the ultimate spot to get some work done and people watch, and I hope we’re returning to that sense of community.
Although bookstores seem like a thing of the past, now with the capability of buying anything online, Barnes & Noble is set to open 60 new stores. They’re not going anywhere.
