There are over 18,300 registered youth hockey players in Ohio, per (USA Hockey member data). After the pandemic, it has been reported that the ‘hockey business is booming’, and Columbus is no exception, as we continue to cheer on the Blue Jackets, rollout programs bringing hockey to diverse communities, and excitedly welcome Pure Hockey — the largest US hockey retailer’s — second Columbus location.
Pure Hockey currently has 81 locations throughout the United States, with three of those locations in Ohio. Two out of the three stores will be here in Columbus, as Pure Hockey New Albany gets ready to open its doors on Friday, July 11th, at 5900 Old Hamilton Rd. Pure Hockey’s first Columbus storefront opened previously in Dublin, at 2720 Sawmill Pl Blvd.

Comments on social media are ecstatic, with some requesting an additional location in the Polaris area. With the potential for a new 127,000-square-foot performance impact arena and pavilion in Delaware County for youth hockey players, we might need it.
Known for selling hockey equipment, including sticks and skates, protective gear, accessories, and NHL merch, Pure Hockey is opening its doors at the brand new ‘Expanded Goalie’ New Albany location at 11 a.m. this Friday.
