For those who would prefer a water birth, the center will feature large birthing tubs, which almost resemble a jacuzzi, but without jets. “Water birth can ease pain, promote relaxation, and create a calming environment for one of life’s most powerful moments,” said Wexner Medical Center on Facebook. There is no additional charge for opting for a birthing tub.
Nurses and midwives were involved in the design of tubs and step stools.
The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center is also the only Level IV Maternity Center in Central Ohio. “This means we’re equipped to care for the most complex conditions in pregnancy and manage urgent situations that may occur during your labor and postpartum stay,” says their website.
