NDAs and rooftop plays: Machine Gun Kelly performs secret pop-up concert in Columbus
Two weeks ago, general manager of Hey Hey Bar & Grill Jessica Gall received an interesting message. It was from Interscope Records.
“They said they had a pretty big artist that wanted to do a free show at our place! Said they really wanted to do it on our patio,” she told 614Now.com
One week ago, they let her know ultra-popular (and Ohio-raised) artist Machine Gun Kelly, real name Colson Baker, would be coming to perform a pop-up concert at Hey Hey’s. At 2.p.m. on the day of the event, an email was sent his fan club about the show.

“My parents are the owners and I am the manager so we had to sign NDAs and weren’t allowed to tell anyone! We had to keep it hush hush,” she said.
Baker ended up playing for about an hour, according to Gall, and she estimated 400 people were present. The house next to Hey Hey invited concert-goers over to watch, and MGK ended up playing two songs on their roof, as well. The new Mutts & Co., located across the street from the bar, even let fans waiting in line for the concert use their bathroom.
“All I can say is we are very blessed! I have an amazing staff and the neighborhood really stepped up and were supportive and we are so thankful,” Gall said.
