Axe throwing concept announces grand opening for next Columbus-area location
The highly-anticipated, new Dueling Axes location in Grove City’s Historic Town Center officially has an opening date. Taking over the historic Grove City Lanes space that was formerly Zassy’s cocktail bar, this latest spot is adding knife throwing, and launching a summer axe throwing league at 3940 Broadway.
The Columbus area can experience the newly renovated concept on Friday, July 18th, 2025, as Dueling Axes holds its public grand opening. After originally starting renovations to the historic building in February 2025, the premier axe throwing concept has taken care to provide a premium environment for guests.
“It is extremely important to us that we complete our renovations to the highest standards. We want Dueling Axes to continue being synonymous with being the original premier axe throwing lounge and provide all our guests a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable atmosphere,” said the press release.
The 6,000 square foot space has been transformed, adding a sports bar viewing experience with over 13 large flat screen TVs, and multiple family-friendly activities, including axe throwing, the new addition of knife throwing, shuffle board, darts, and cornhole. Guests can feel free to walk-in and enjoy the bar while they wait or throw, and order small bites like the Lumberjack Chili Cheese Nachos.

To celebrate the grand opening weekend, guests can take advantage of 20% off 1-hour or longer axe throwing reservations, per the press release. The location is also kicking-off their summer axe throwing league this month, starting July 23rd, and running weekly every Wednesday. The location aims to add future dart and cornhole leagues as well.
