Immersive carnival-themed gaming concept from creators of Otherworld officially opens

An Otherworldly carnival-style gaming concept has landed in Columbus.
The creators of the popular immersive art museum Otherworld have created a new indoor gaming hub that borrows the same interactive platform from its predecessor.
Gamegrounds, which features a slew of new and classic carnival-style games (with a neon-heavy, surreal aesthetic), officially opened its doors on Feb. 21.

It’s is located at 5819 Chantry Dr., inside of Otherworld. The two concepts will share space at the Chantry Drive storefront, with Gamegrounds occupying 12,000 square feet.
A total of 12 immersive, carnival-style games will be featured, including a neon basketball game, a Skee-Ball inspired contest that has contestants aim for the mouth of a massive clown cutout and even Space Boopers, a 3-D spinoff of the classic arcade game Galactica, where patrons man gun turrets to take down alien spaceships on the ceiling.
