‘National Geographic’ travels to Columbus to record video of local outdoor attraction
Earlier this year, National Geographic released a story about via ferratas across the country, while giving some love to the one located right here in Columbus, in Quarry Trails Metro Park.
And now, they’ve come here themselves to try it out. You can learn more about the Quarry Trails via ferrata here.
On June 12, the publication sent travel journalist Stephanie Vermillion to Columbus to hop on the nation’s only urban via ferrata.

“Being featured in a National Geographic story and social media post was a major feather in the cap of Metro Parks. I was able to join Stephanie for the via ferrata climb. She was so excited to experience the park and I enjoyed seeing it through her eyes,” Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks public information officer Jill Snyder told 614Now.
