A campus-area pizzeria that has been serving students for 40 years is launching a new location on the city’s East Side.

Ohio State Pizza’s second storefront will be located at 819 Nelson Rd., taking over the space from a former Wendy’s, which closed last year.

It’s unclear when the eatery will open, but according to an Ohio State Pizza representative, the eatery could launch as soon as next month.

Ohio State Pizza’s original restaurant is located at 325 E. Hudson St. in the SoHud neighborhood, near Ohio State. The self-described “no frills pizza joint” has operated its campus location since 1985, and the new East Side spot will represent the first time the eatery has expanded.

The concept serves thin and crispy Columbus-style pizza, alongside wings, subs, salads and more.
