75 year old Columbus dessert shop closing deli counter
A popular East Side attraction is moving away from deli service.
According to a sign posted to the door of Johnson’s Real Ice Cream in Bexley, the dessert spot will close its deli counter on Dec. 31.
“In the months ahead, you may notice a few thoughtful updates to the Bexley space, but what matters most won’t change. It remains your welcoming neighborhood spot to meet friends and make memories–centered on the ice cream that started it all,” the sign reads. “To everyone who has enjoyed the deli over the years–thank you. Your support has meant the world to our family. We’re excited for what’s next and look forward to seeing you for the moments–big and small–that bring our community together.”
