According to international association, local eatery is one of the 21 best French restaurants in the world

While the vineyards of Bordeaux and the limestone cliffs of Verdon are thousands of miles from Central Ohio, one new Columbus restaurant has forged an award-winning connection with the great nation of France.
Chouette, which is located at 66 N. High St., recently received the World’s French Restaurant certification from the French Association of Master Restaurateurs (FAMR). The eatery is one of 21 restaurants in the world to receive this accolade, and the only one in the country to have it.
Created in 2020, FAMR aims to recognize French restaurants across the world that meet the organization’s lofty standards.

“Chouette was born out of a desire to bring an authentic and accessible French bistro to the Columbus market, so receiving such a notable accomplishment after less than a year of operations underlines the immense hard work, quality and pride Chef Sorci and his team pour into the restaurant every single day. ” Jeff Edwards, president and CEO of the Edwards Companies, said in a press release. “Congratulations to the entire team at Chouette for this incredible honor.”
Chouette, which was named after the French word for “owl” or “cool,” first opened in the summer of 2024.
