Following the closure of The Butcher & Grocer’s retail butcher last year, and the closure of its sister restaurant, Cleaver, in 2022, the brand has announced that its wholesale arm, TB&G Meats, is now closed.

The Butcher & Grocer posted about the closure on social media over the weekend.

TB&G meats was located at 649 N, James Rd., and its former home is available to rent, according to the post.

Billed as the production facility for The Butcher & Grocer, which focused on providing natural, Ohio-raised meat on a retail level from its Grandview storefront, TB&G Meats kept the same mission, only operating on a wholesale level. It continued to quietly offer its services after The Butcher & Grocer and accompanying restaurant, Cleaver, closed.

As recently as 2023, The Butcher & Grocer was tapped as one of the nation’s best butcher shops by Food & Wine.

The Butcher & Grocer first opened in Grandview in 2016. It also operated an East Market butcher shop and eatery for over a year.
