After closing sole Columbus location years ago, concept from Bakersfield and The Eagle owners announces comeback

A build-your-own wrap, salad, and grain bowl concept first opened in Columbus back in 2013 on campus, but it’s since closed.
The concept, Currito, is making a comeback though, according to owners and brothers Joe and John Lanni as well as PR Newswire. The Lanni brothers own Thunderdome Restaurant Group which also houses popular restaurants like Bakerfsield and The Eagle, plus notable Cincinnati establishments Pepp & Delores, Maplewood, SoHi, Krueger’s Tavern, CityBird, and of course, Currito.

Currito’s significant growth could in-part be due to its healthy options, offering fresh grain bowls, superfood salads, and even supergreen smoothies. The restaurant sources their food as local as possible with Ohio Valley Food Connection and sources their chicken from humane farms that don’t use antibiotics or chemicals.
With its continued, and growing, success, 16 new locations are opening nationwide, with one opening here in Columbus, according to PR Newswire. An exact location has yet to be announced.
“Each location represents an opportunity to build strong, local connections and deliver fresh, quality-driven dining experiences that make a difference in people’s lives,” said Joe Lanni via PR Newswire.
Their other concept, a fried chicken focused restaurant called CityBird, is rumored to be opening a Columbus location as well. Stay tuned for more details.
