Following nearly 15 years of operation, an East Side sports bar is now closed.

On Friday, Turtle Creek Tavern posted an announcement to its social media pages that it closed after service this weekend.

The Tavern is located at 5571 N. Hamilton Rd.

“Closing our doors is bittersweet and we can’t thank you enough for your support,” the post, from owners Mike Lee and Phil Benua, reads. “Please help us give our amazing staff the sendoff they truly deserve from now until the end of business on Sunday.”

While Turtle Creek, which operated as a sports bar for 13 years on the city’s East Side, has closed, the concept said a new owner, The Columbus Tavern Group (which is behind spots like Yogi’s Bar & Grill, Novak’s Tavern & Patio and more) will take over the space and renovate it. The bar will then reopen after its upgrades have been completed.
