After nearly 15 years, Central Ohio brewery will close; Likely to reopen under new ownership soon
It’s the end of an era for Granville craft beer fans.
Granville Brewing Co. announced the concept will close its doors on Sept. 27., but there’s still a silver lining for fans of the Licking County craft brewery. According to Ross Kirk, who founded Granville Brewing alongside Jay Parsons as a hobby in 2011, the brewery appears to have a buyer lined up, although he noted nothing is official just yet.

“Jay and I founded GBC as a hobby. It has outgrown hobby status, so in order to focus on our day jobs, we announced in July that we would be selling the brewery,” Kirk told 614Now. “We are working towards that goal and an announcement should be made in the next 4-6 weeks about the future of GBC. We are confident that it will continue to grow and thrive under this new leadership.”
Kirk reiterated that nothing has yet been finalized, although he believes the potential new owner will continue operating the space as Granville Brewing Co.
Before the brewery closes its doors later this month, you can still stop by and grab any beer for $5 a glass. Granville Brewing Co. is located at 5371 Columbus Rd. in Granville.
