By the end of this week, a Columbus eatery of nearly four decades will close its doors for good.

Fujiyama Steak House of Japan, a restaurant that has served the Northland neighborhood of Columbus since 1986, is closing.

A Fujiyama employee told 614Now that, while it’s unclear exactly when the restaurant will close its doors, it will do so by Dec. 5. It’s not clear why exactly the eatery plans to close.

The longtime North Side restaurant is located at 5755 Cleveland Ave. It will be open from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and from 5-9 p.m. until it closes later this week.

The 39 year-old North Side spot was known for its hibachi-style cuisine (offering table-side cooking on flat top grills for diners), in addition to its interior, which is inspired by traditional Japanese architecture.
