Anticipated new Italian restaurant from owner of Lindey’s opens today

If you know and love Lindey’s, you’re probably going to also love another second concept from the minds of the Doody family – but this one is less about the filets and more about the hand-made noodles.
“97.6% of everything in our kitchen is from scratch, chef-driven, and made on-premise,” said Tony Ciuprinskas, Director of Executive Support for this new restaurant, Bar Italia, which is opening at Easton at 4145 The Strand today, starting at 3 p.m.

Bar Italia, co-owned by Rick Doody of Lindey’s and NCR Ventures, has other locations throughout Ohio and Florida, but the team said this Easton location is a “step above the rest,” with authentic Italian marble, a serpentine-style bar, beautiful walnut wood, and modern Italian-inspired furniture by AurHaus. “The space is modern, yet organic,” explained Ciuprinskas. The goal is for guests to be transported outside of Ohio, and with a plate of pasta and a spritz, all in a gorgeous setting, it sounds like that’s possible.

The menu features a variety of elevated pasta dishes, made right there in-house, like the Spicy Vodka Rigate with fresh pipe rigate pasta “Carbone Style,” and the Pesto Genovese, with rigate pasta, parsley, pine nuts, zucchini, sun-dried tomatoes, parmesan cheese, and basil, and even a vegan option made with zucchini noodles and mushroom bolognese. “Everything is fresh and light – we present a traditional dish with a more modern interpretation,” said Joe Isbell, Managing Partner for Bar Italia Easton.
Lighter lunches and even a weekend brunch are some of the other highlights of this anticipated Italian restaurant. Pair off your meals with cocktails like the Bar Italia Spritz, made with gin, prosecco, lemon juice, soda, and a blood orange wedge, or a Portofino Paloma, with corazon, limoncello, grapefruit juice, agave, pink peppercorn sea salt rim, and lime. A large selection of Italian wines are also featured.
“We’re really excited about coming to Columbus,” Rick Doody exclaimed. Visit Bar Italia‘s website to check out the brunch, lunch, and dinner menus! Starting today at 3pm, the restaurant will be open 11am-10pm on weekdays, 11am-11pm on weekends, and 11am-9pm on Sundays.
