Australian natives launch Down Under-themed coffee concept
Sipping some espresso down under with your toes in the sand or strolling through Sydney with an iced latte sounds like a relaxing daydream. In Australia, it is said that coffee is more of a ritual and less of a routine. Columbus is about to find out with a new, Australia inspired coffee truck.
Bondi Beans Co. out of Grove City is officially open and making the farmers market and Columbus event circuit this summer.
Created by an Australian family who relocated to the states, Bondi Beans is a mobile café that is focusing on bringing Australian coffee vibes and flavors to Columbus. All drinks are espresso-based, made with high-end Ethiopian beans, and named with an “Aussie theme.”

According to their Instagram @bondibeansco, “Our drinks are an homage to the Aussie culture we love. All featuring a flavor profile that evokes feelings of escape.”
Their menu boasts creative coffee concoctions like a Bondi Breeze Latte (banana and spiced brown sugar flavors), the Melbourne Mont Blanc (orange, brown sugar, and nutmeg flavors), and both Turkish Delight and Pavlova flavored lattes.
Their sole sweet treat presently is homemade pavlova, a small meringue-based Australian dessert topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit.
When I went to check out the new truck at the Grove City Farmers Market, the line was down the sidewalk. Most customers ordered the popular salted caramel Salty Surf Latte, while I tried the Melbourne Mont Blanc–an excellent choice. Any drink can be made into a triple espresso by upgrading to a “Kangaroo Kicker” triple shot.
