Award-winning local barbecue concept opening another full-service restaurant

Sav McKee

After opening their first full-service restaurant a couple of months ago, Ray Ray’s Hog Pit is making more moves.

The award-winning barbecue concept, which initially became popular via their food trucks, announced on Facebook that they’re opening another brick & mortar, full-service restaurant in the former Ghostwriter Public House (which closed in February), located at 49 ½ E. Main St. in Johnstown. It’s set to open on August 15!

“This full-service restaurant and bar brings with it not just barbecue, but a mood – the weight of slow smoke in the air, the hum of a dining room alive with conversation, the invitation to sit down, stay a while, and taste something unmistakably Ohio,” said Ray Ray’s announcement.

The new location will serve a similar menu to their newest Marion restaurant, including starters like collard green and artichoke dip and Southern-style mozzarella sticks, plus soup, salads, wings, pulled pork and brisket, BBQ sandwiches served with crispy pub fries, plus burgers, mac & cheese and so much more! Wash it all down with some drinks from the bar.
