BBQ food truck setting up “permanent food partnership” at popular brewery

Rockmill Brewery recently Saw new ownership take over, and now a new food concept is pairing with the popular Central Ohio beer-maker.

According to a social media post made over the weekend, Backcountry BBQ will set up an ongoing outpost at the Lancaster brewery.

The Rockmill property spans multiple acres that includes a rustic taproom, live music venue and farm atmosphere.

Originally opened by former Columbus restaurateur Matthew Barbee in 2010, the property was purchased at auction by Austin Caulk and Taylor Scribner in the spring of 2024.

Backcountry BBQ, which currently operates as a food truck in Lithopolis, offers a full menu of hardwood smoked traditional barbeque. It will be open at Rockmill 4-8 p.m. Thursday, 2-9 p.m. Friday, 12-9 p.m. Saturday and 12-8 p.m. Sunday.
