‘Better Homes & Gardens’ shouts out Columbus coffee shop for trendsetting latte flavor

A small Columbus coffee truck recently received some pretty large national accolades for a trendy new drink flavor.
Last week, Better Homes & Gardens published a story titled “We’re Calling it: Cherry is the Flavor of the Summer,” looking into the wave of cherry and cherry blossom flavored drinks sweeping the country, and naming Columbus spot Moonbird Coffee Co.
The story discusses the trend at the national level, but also examines cherry-flavored drinks from smaller local establishments, like Moonbird.

“And the trend is apparent in local cafés: Moonbird Coffee Co.’s spring menu includes a Sakura Matcha Latte, a seasonal sip that blends earthy matcha, oat milk, tangerine, and house-made cherry blossom syrup,” the story reads.
“We were surprised! Moonbird is a super tiny operation/passion project (run by just two people),” Moonbird co-owner Candice O’Neil told 614Now about the national press. “The cherry blossoms in Cbus have been beautiful this year, and we foraged them from around town. We put a lot of love into our seasonal menus, and we work locally whenever we can—grateful for any chance to spotlight Columbus!”
After opening in early 2024, Moonbird Coffee became known for an inventive slate of drinks, as well as the retro trailer that it serves patrons from.
